Design Process for Creating an Earbud Case
Step 1 - Define the Problem
The current design of the earbud protective case is susceptible to damage to the 3d-printed hinge after repeated opening and closing of the case

Criteria:
-
two parts that fit together
-
fits existing earbuds
-
designed for 3d printing

Step 2 - Generate Concepts
Descriptive text and your own images for each step. Be sure to use uniform formatting for text and images.
This step should demonstrate your ability to create orthographic and isometric sketches.

-
3 concept sketches - isometric
-
1 final sketch with dimensions - orthographic

Step 3 - Develop a Solution
Make all text boxes and images uniform size and proportion

Design considerations:
-
two mating parts
-
fits existing audio device
-
design for 3d printing without supports

Criteria:
-
2 detail drawings
-
2 renderings
-
1 exploded assembly

Step 4 - Construct and Test
.stl files exported from Autodesk Fusion 360 showing the best orientation for 3d printing on a MakerBot Replicator. The design and orientation will NOT require any supports

Print Settings:
-
base layer = raft.2 mm layer height
-
10% infill density
-
2 shells
-
roof thickness = 1.2 mm
-
floor thickness = .8 mm
