Mechanisms Used by Engineers
1. Two slider
Avenir Light is a clean and stylish font favored by designers. It’s easy on the eyes and a great go to font for titles, paragraphs & more.
This video above is a kinematic chain of simple mechanism called a two slider that converts rotational motion to linear motion. It was made in Autodesk Inventor at Oxford High School in Michigan. The mechanism was designed in a Project Lead Way course called Introduction to Engineering Design. The design was made as part of the reverse engineering unit. An angular constraint has been animated in Inventor Studio to create the motion.
2. Adaptive Spring
The video above is a an example of an adaptive part. This spring length is defined using a parametric dimension of the value between the upper and lower plates. Next the constraint that maintains the distance between the plates is animated to increase from 4 inches to 6 inches.
3. Crank Slider
The video above is a kinematic chain of simple mechanism called crank slider. This device converts rotational motion to linear motion. A camera was created and also animated to show the object from various angles and zooms.
